I have a 4.0L OHV engine that i am replacing in this explorer and recently replaced the engine with the same 4.0L OHV engine out of a 1999 model. although everything appears the the same the engine wiring harness is different. The fuel injector connectors appear to be the only connectors that the harness has the same. The PCM and all other connectors are different. Would i have to make a modified wiring harness from the engine harness to the factory PCM or even if i did have the PCM from the 99 vehicle would it still allow all my factory gauges to work properly inside the vehicle? If anyone has run into this problem before your assistance would greatly be appreciated.
