I have a 1996 Ford Ranger. The temperature gauge is not working. I have about 5.14 volts at the connection to the temp sending unit. I bought a new temp sending unit. It reads about 306 ohms. I have not taken the old one out yet. The old temp sending unit reads about 147 ohms. Is this enough of a difference to make the temp gauge not work. Is the volt reading at the temp sending unit the correct amount.
Thanks for any advice.
