Hey Guys- 97 Explorer has a problem with misfires, won't pass emissions. I pulled the codes and found misfires in cylinders 2,4. Also codes for lean running in banks 1 and 2 as expected. I pulled the plugs and did a compression check. Both cylinders 2 and 4 gave me a reading of 152 for both. The plug in 4 showed normal wear, in 2 it was bone dry not even a hint of firing or smell of gas. replaced plug two because it was not firing and it still ran rough. Now plug 1 is misfiring. Also all the fuel injectors were replaced. Bad injectors is was started this mess. I'm getting ready to tear down to the timing chain and look at that but before I do I wanted to know if I'm going the right direction here. Any ideas? Thanks very much.
