This is the low spot on our road right now the river is well up out of its banks

This is also why we have a snorkel on the FJ and. 37” on the excursion, 31” on the Polaris ;) and we have several sets of waders

Is this the path that you just snow plowed?

Yes I had just plowed the 12” of snow off the road because I knew rain was coming. First plow of the year is a slow one… no ice layer so many rocks
This is the first time in 7 years it has flooded in winter, it usually does this in spring runoff. The locals have warned me this is flood season and now I can see how. Historically there have been some nasty winter floods in Idaho (I just read about them, makes it hard to sleep when you hear water running under your house)

The water went back down
All the snow from the mountains melted into the streams which lead into this “stream” and it becomes a large river. Half my property is watershed and gets flooded, I call it watering the grass or now “big winter flush”

That low spot in the road can have 6” or 24” of water on it during spring… yesterday it was more Like 36”!!
There was a big log jam there in the river causing flooding to be worse… well the log jam has now moved waaaaaay down river so that is good.
We lost 5-7 pieces of firewood that were split and left outside and I gotta go pickup some fence posts I had stacked outside that are now 300 yards down the field lol

Our firewood did not float away
Only My Lawn mower got slightly wet before I moved it to higher ground
We did have a beaver swim under the house
That was super cool
Not many people can say that!
We drove to town yesterday afternoon I got video of the excursion driving through the deep water
It’s fun when it does this… would not be fun if it went much higher

Water went back down all is well… phew

I named the beaver “Justin” my son saw him swim under the house we all got cameras out but it was too late

I used to laugh at my wife for wanting a snorkel On her FJ…. Not anymore!

This am, according to scangauge 2000 mountaineer, closed loop occured before 38f coolant even started to rise in temp. About 12 seconds in from start.
