1999 Explorer 4.0L SOHC problem

I have a 1999 Explorer XLT 4.0L SOHC 4x4 with 189000 miles and the other day i was driving home and it was raining and there was a large puddle covering the street. Me, along with several other people on the road drove through it spraying water everywhere. Right after that my explorer wouldnt go faster than 10mph and no matter how much gas i gave there was no speed increase and my tach would limit at 3000rpm. I got home parked and went to sleep. When i woke up i went outside to take a look. Started it up and no problems since then. Any ideas as to what got wet to make this happen??

Check your air filter, see if it is damp and looking like a sponge. You really need to check this to see if you ingested water. If not, then your sweet!

I am with Sedition. I'd check the filter.
