I have a 1999 explorer sport that needs an exhaust overhaul. The question I have is if there would be any negative performance repercussions from taking off the factory dual catalytic converters and running a y pipe into a single cat? It would save about $500 in cost. I havent looked at the location of the 02 sensors, so I don't know if their location is a problem in regards to switching to the y pipe and single cat. Any advice would be appreciated.
