1st Gen Axle Width

On Saturday, I'm goin to look for a D44 solid axle for my upcaoming SAS, and I would like to know what the axle width is for the front and rear axles (b/c I know that they are different), and which width y'all think I should shoot for. Please help me on this.

So, in other words, what is the "popular" axle width y'all go with for a SA D44?
