1st Gen leaking through sun roof? - Coming from roof racks?

Hi all,
When it rains I get water coming in through what seems to be my sunroof.
I have read some threads regarding leaks..
Some people feel it's the windshield (can't be on mine because it leak originates 'higher' than windsheild).

I thought it was the sun roof, but it still leaked even after I sealed it like crazy! I tested it also from the sun roof and no water leaked in.

Could the water be coming from the roof racks? Has anyone had this problem and/or fixed it?
I read some issues about rust around the roof racks, but I haven't read about water coming in the racks and then getting into the car from the sun roof.
I think this is what is happening.

all i can really say here is anything is possible on a car of that year ( i have a 91 tracker) i would pull the headliner so it doesnt get any more wrecked then it already is bag the seats with plastic bags and go to town with the garder hose..u should be able to find the leak prety quickly
