Does anyone know where to find a cheap stcok CD head unit for a 91 other than taking chances on ebay?

What other stick HU would plug into a X harness? BTW I have the amp in the cargo area, I assume this is the FORD "premium" system.

The previous owner installed a Kenwood tape deck with CD changer controls. I was contemplating getting a changer, but think I'd rather have a single CD player at my fingertips.

Single Cd for 1st Gen Explor'r

The CD radio listed on e-bay, which is for a Contour/Mystique, should work in an Explorer. There will be a slight gap around the opening, as the early Explorer used the "flanged" bezel (64mmX192mm) compared to the '93-'94 Explorer which used the standard "DIN" bezel (59mmX188mm).

You may have to trick the amp, as the '91 models used a 12v turn-on logic, while '92-up units used a 5v turn-n logic. To do that, all you have to do is jumper a 12V signal from the power antenna lead (pin # 7 in the radio power connector) to pin #8 (PA enable) of the vehicle harness.
