2 - 3 Shift flare?

I have a 2000 explorer 5.0 AWD.

when shifting into 2 and 3rd gear at slow speeds its like it disengages to shift revs up then drops into gear causing the car to jurk forward.

I'm not sure what transmission i have and what parts i need exactly to fix this issue properly.
So if anyone out there knows where i can get these parts and for what kind of valve body i have i would really appreciate it.

Sounds like you may need to replace the valve body gaskets. I know the flares on the others are caused by the gaskets blowing out and not keeping pressure in the right areas.

Didn't the 5.0L's come with the 4R70W transmission?

Yes, the 5r55e's only came behind the V6's
