Uh dude, you ain't got no torsion bars.

about $350 bucks for 2 front springs,2 add a leafs and shocks all round.

eehhh.....oh yeah...ok so all these guys talkin bout torsion bars...those are aftermarket than.or different yers.ok so what about a body lift.ive seen the kits online and it looks like alot of work.can i use spacers for this i mean everything thats mounted to the body has that much room to move doesnt it.so just checked out the hayns.95 and later.for torsion bars.

What is your objective?

Are you wanting to get bigger tires? How big?

Search f150 coil spacers for the front, $60 at dealer, $20 at junkyard. Get 1.5 inches of lift, takes an hour to do. You will need an alignment after, so add that to the cost.

Warn 153 shackles for the rear. $70 on ebay (est) takes an hour to install yourself.

$200, and your lifted enough for 31" mudders! Now go wheeling and enjoy your rig like you never have before!

...You can find some useful lift info if you click the "How To" in my signature..;)

i want to get a set of 30's and want the extra clearance around the fenders.so do i use the spring seats from the same year f150?

fatbobsgarage.com has a complete 2" lift for a 1991-1994 ford explorer 4x4 for like 100.00,but you could always get a set of shackles for the rear, and coil seats for the front or coil spacers

Not sure if you've searched, but this thread is in the Stock forum, you might get more info in the Modified forum.

Mike

i ran 30x9.50 all terrains for years on my explorer with stock suspension and never had any issues offroading.. they are only like 1/2" larger than stock 235/75s

any particular year f150 for the spring seats?it is my understanding i will get 1.5-2" lift with original stud and nut,no extension.

not sure of the year to look for, going off the part numbers in the post. Heard it was an early 90's F150? I believe the 4WD nut is long enough, however if got a 2WD model a person would need an extension stud...............

...If you do a part look up at the vendor's site that is in that thread, it will have the years that the parts is from...;)

im currently running 31x10.50x15's on my explorer and i didnt lift it,and they dont rub at all, unless at full lock, but im thinkin of ordering that 2" lift from fatbobsgarage.com that i mentioned for myself just so i also have better clearance

thanks for the info on fatbobsgarage. thats what i have been looking for but could`nt remember the site, needed a memory jog!

...2" will put you out of alignment spec...That's why so many people do the F150 coil seats...

Ok it's been a while since I looked that 2" kit up,it's $456 with new front springs, add a leafs for the rear ,4 nitro shocks and the Camber/Caster Shim. When you consider that decent shocks cost $40 each that's not bad.I don't like to use spacers and I was wondering if stock shocks would work with a 2 inch lift? If they will that goes down to around $200 but you need to buy the Camber/Caster Shim separately.

so i want the look and clearance of a 2 " lift without having to do anything more than an alignment.if i use the f150 spring seats and the war 153 shackles I'm good then?

you'd be good with "stock" shocks............ Put the seats in, shackle on, get an alignment and call it done. :)
