Hello all,
I have a 2000 Explorer 5.0L, and about 3 months ago it started running rough. I changed the spark plugs (none of them were fouled), and no luck. Check for vacuum leaks, and found none. Check Engine light doesn't come on bit IS WORKING. as time has gone by the vibration has gotten worse, and now when I stop the engine, a clunking noise can be heard from the engine. The odd part is that sometimes when i start it, it runs normally, while most of the time the engine runs extremely rough. The engine doesn't lack power, or miss, or lope. I checked the engine mounts too, but i doubt thats it as I hear this horrible clunk when the engine is turned off. Any suggestions?
