Nice. glad to see you finally made a registry. gotta get her ready for a mounds run next year.

Thanks kazer! I'm excited to build it finally.
Would you be up for a October it November run? By
Then I should have the mods done needed for offroading better.

I'm always down for a mounds run lol. theres a trip planned for drummond island late september if you're interested, wheeling and camping.

Where is drummond island? What weekend?

I work Thursdays and Fridays. I won't.be able to do that

Shackle have been ordered today. be here in about a week! Once i get those in im going to find some time to do the shackle/ TT twist.

looked at tires today. going to get the goodyear wrangler authorities 31/10.5/15 at walmart 148 a piece. cant beat that! heard great things about them.

Removing Side Steps / running boards

vhu94.jpg

This is how it started this morning

zpk3p.jpg

These clips are absolutely annoying to get out!

30aeyqg.jpg

Today i wasnt feeling great but i decided it was way to beautiful out for me to sit in side so what did i do? removed my running boards. in all i would say it took me maybe 30-45 minutes if that. it would have been faster if i had an impact though :) oh well! I also used the rust to my advantage and just jumped on the steps to get them to fall out and push through the holes. some would say this is bad/ tacky but the bolts were all stuck in there and no way they were coming out. plus the rust has to be cut out eventually.

This is the forum i used to help me... http://www.explorerforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=188614 Thanks 94eddiebauer

Cant wait for my new decals, and shackles to get here. and then its time for 31 tires! hopefully next week monday.

well i have had some time at work today to think about what i want to do next. my money situation is very good still so i can keep moving on. I work a 24 in flint tomorrow so that will mess some things up! but thats okay :)
but fridays projects are this...
Custom mesh grille (black)
paint my chrome grille the color of my body spruce grey (love that color)
tint my tailights and maybe headlights with the vinyl cling.
and if time allows while paint is drying i will trim my front bumper

i am off at 8am so i have all day to do this! and then i will be going to chicago on saturday so hopefully nothing catastrophic happens. or i will be driving without a grille to chicago hehe

i will post pictures and links when done

update... at work today got bored and after speaking with kazer i decided to buy some leds... i bought a bunch lets say :) so once they come in i will do the write up on how i am doing them... and show some pictures :)

Custom mesh grill, trimming front bumper, painted trim, bedliner, custom neon emblem.

How to trim bumper
for me this was simple, on some years you can simple unbolt the bottom half, mine was attached, there was a distinct line half was down i just took a cut off tool and followed the line all the way across. it turned out good in my opinion.
How to paint words on my molding green
After the mouldings were all painted i went through with a paint brush and put about 7-8 coats on. on the sides i just taped it off used a razr and cut out the letters then sprayed about 5-6 good heavy coats. it makes it unique

well i got off work friday and i couldnt find the paint i needed. so i decided to just paint the grille, molding, and below all bedliner. i also with the assistance of my friend decided itd be sweet to outline some stuff in neon green to contrast the black. i have to paint a few more moldings with green. my shackles are here finally. so i think tomorow those will be on. and i will buy 31's. enjoy all the pics!

How to paint the bedliner
for all the paint that was actually bedlinered over i used a very fine sand paper and lightly scratched it up. and then cleaned it off and sprayed it.
for all the plastic it was just washed off and then painted. so far about 6 months later and after winner and some tree rash it all it holding up. there is one spot on bumper that is scraped off from hitting a wood post

before

dfbkm1.jpg

This after i trimmed the front bumper, and after i painted in matte black. i had originally went with a matte black idea for the trim and then decided to go with bedliner today. this makeshift rack is a pingpong table holder!

21c6k5.jpg

bedlinered the keypad molding too. didnt do as good of a job covering it as i should have. but it turned out good

2zp15he.jpg

i also added some camo EMT edition 4x4 stickers. i like them alot :)

vy83rn.jpg

decide that itd be sweet to paint off my gas cap door. i like it bedlinered :)

2zfmlcj.jpg

here is the mesh grille before being painted. This was an absolute pain in the butt!!!! i regretted this as soon as i started it. so hard to do! and plus my dremmel died half way through i had to use 2 pieced of the gutter guard stuff. so that was a real pain in the butt to figure out.

35b8b41.jpg

painted all black. i was originally going to use the torch and take all of the chrome off. but at this point i was so flustered i just said screw it and figured bedliner would cover anything and stick to it... so we will see what happens. but it looks so much better black. if i was leaving it silver itd be a disaster.
edit- 6 months holding strong

125hvlc.jpg

surprise more neon green!!! and it looks a heck of a lot better with the emblem.

25foex2.jpg

i actually really like this. and from a distance you really cant see how bad the grille is. but i like this. cant wait to get my new hellas in!!!

2ebr7lv.jpg

after!

add the one sticker i bought :)

light bar
HID kit

vh6mfa.jpg

newest addition!

Your should take the lights off the bumper and throw them on the back either under the tails or around the hitch, run them to a toggle or directly to the reverse lights

Actually I already have a set back there. I will send you a pic in a second I'm at work.
The plan is to put 3 hellas on bumper. 5 on roof lightbar and then move
hose to the back.

Got any pics of the switch setup?

Thanks man. I got a custom switch setup utilizing one of the cubby holes in the center console but I am not satisfied with it at all.

current reverse lights wired into a switch. these will be replaced eventually by the ones on the front grille.

313p0sn.jpg

this is my current switch box. i utilized one of the cubbys by cutting it out. the switch on the far left is over head lights. then next is grille lights. then reverse lights. next 2 blank. then last one powers CB. its no the "cleanest" job and may look into a new one eventually or removing it all together if i wire my lights into brights, headlights, reverse lights etc. so we shall see! post a pic of yours youngmounty
