So I noticed my battery was getting weaker over the past two weeks, it was old and I replaced it 3 days ago, however everytime I step on the gas and the rpms hit 2000 the battery light comes on and the voltage drops. I have cleaned the battery cables and for the most part they are ok.Any suggestions? Bad voltage regulator?
BTW It starts up fine and everything elictrically works.
Thanks!

Check belt tension.

The belt maybe worn or loose. If either, the rpms can cause slipping, thus voltage problems.

yeah take you alternator and have it bench tested, more than likely your alternator is on it's way out.
