probely the best way is to buy a doner explorer and start switching. Will not be a easy and simple task with out a doner.

just buy one and save yourself the hassle

I agree with just buying a 4x4 explorer, but...

For the T-case, I would pick up a manual shift BW1354 (assuming its a V6). That way wiring will not be an issue for the electric shift case.

There are plenty of Explorers in the junk yards to source the necessary parts.

Find a front differental/axle housing that matches your rear gear ratio.

Try to get a driveshaft off a '91-'94 explorer, or a '95-'96. Those years have the double cardan shafts that will bolt right up to the manual 1354, not the "CV style" of the newer ones.

Rear drive shaft will also need to be sourced.

The rest of the parts can probably be purchased over the counter from any auto parts stores.

I'm sure there is other stuff I'm forgetting about.

alright guys thanks im definetly gooing to look for that doner explorer. i love the 2 door lol keep you guys up to date with the project
