Help! 2000 Explorer XLT. Driving along about 30mph when engine refuses to rev under acceleration. Idle starts to drop eventually to 750rpm and about 3-4 times I see the the Oil Pressure light blink on/off with the oil pressure gauge spiking to max pressure every single time. No stuttering of engine, no jerking of transmission. I pulled over and turned off the engine. No warning lights except for that oil pressure light. Had truck towed home. Started it a few times and the engine started and sputtered dead. Now it's cranking but not turning over at all. No fluid leaks; no apparent burned fluids; fuses are OK. What's going on? Where should I look?

Can you hear the fuel pump for a few seconds when you turn the key on?

Get a fuel pressure tester and check it at the rail.
