Hello all, recently(ok 3 weeks ago) my E-250's service engine soon light came on. I took it to a mechanic I know(he does the work I can't) to have the codes read (damn obd-2). It showed "intermittant misfire cylinder #6". So thinking that the fault lay with either the original plug wires(200,000 kms), or the plugs (60,000kms), I replaced both. He cleared the code reset the light and all was good for 2 weeks. Then all of a sudden the light is back on. Had the codes read again, same result, misfire in the same cylinder. So now what else could cause a misfire to occur only in one cylinder. And why can I not tell when this is happening. The only clues I have at all are once in a while it takes a second longer cranking to start and I am hearing some detonation(pinging)under load. This van is used as a courier vehicle and does about 160kms a day all start and stop and a lot of idleing. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
Glen
