Assuming they're not rusted in, I find it easiest to remove the front tires and inner fenders and go through the wheel wells. Makes the job pretty easy.
Pull the front wheels, the rear most one on the passenger side is a bear otherwise, also, if you haven't got new wires, get new wires before you start, because they're subject to be stuck
