Need some help here....my 2001 Explorer has been intermittantly hesitating (misfiring) for a couple weeks now...since I'm going to be selling it soon, I took it to the dealer who I bought it from 10 years ago to isolate the problem before selling it. Basically, it idles fine, shifts fine and runs well when cold...once it warms up, once in a while I get a hesitation around 40-50mph. No CEL.
The dealer did a cylinder test, and the EEC test came up with a P0302 (cylinder 2 misfire) code. They said they found a cracked #2 coil, and arcing in the plug wires. So they replaced the coil, plug wires and plugs.
A couple days later, the same problems surfaced again...I'm wondering where to look next...Since the cylinder test turned out OK, I'm guessing the problem isn't there...the only thing I'm thinking of is fuel, or a problem with another coil that just surfaced (ow common would that be?). Any help that i could get would be greatly appreciated!
