I have a 2001 ford explorer with the v6 4.0 2 door so what i am doing in putting a new exhaust on it from the cat back cause the old one fell off .I bought the new one it came in 3 peaces I got the first 2 to fit but the last 1 with the resonator and tail pipe peace I cant get to fit. does anyone have a pic how it fits on cause I think it has to go over the axle then between the springs in the back some how?thank you for any help

above the axle

If it's like my 2000 Sport there should be a heat shield above the rear axle and the pipe goes between the heat shield and the axle. The pipe exits between the rear shock and the rear stabilizer vertical link. I don't have a photo of the stock one but my 3" dia. replacement follows the same routing.

I eliminated the resonator. It may be necessary to have the vehicle fairly high off the ground to have room to place the tailpipe in position.
