Not sure why but my new X has all kinds of weird issues with the locks, in that pieces were missing. I have everything working except the passenger door doesnt click on the interior lights. After taking it apart it was missing the switch. I pulled a working switch from another explorer but I cant get it to cycle the lights when installed. (If I plug the switch in and ground the wire to it and press the switch button the lights come on and off.)
I assumed something is supposed to hit that button when the door is closed, but when I looked at the door mechanism in the closed position (without the switch installed) it looks the same as when the door is open. Nothing seems to change that would close the switch.
I assumed something was wrong with the whole assembly, but the other explorer looks the same way.
So, what is supposed to close the switch?
