2001 Sport Trac with a body lift. What size tires should I get?

Howdy y'all, I am putting a basic 3" body lift on my 2001 sport trac, I am wondering if anyone has any advice on what tire size I should move up too, I have the stock wheels with a 255/70/R16 size tire, or an aftermarket set of wheels with a 265/70/R17 size tire on them, I do not want to buy new wheels, I would much rather just upgrade my tires, I am also not sure if i would have to remove my wheel well so the larger tires would not rub, thank you!

I went with a 285/70/16 BFG at after the body lift on my 01, had to trim/zipties back a very small amount of the inner wheel well plastic.
