I think they'll work and they're probably the same, but will my 24x8.5" wheels with 295/35/24 tires fit on my new 2008 explorer like they did my 2003?

Did they make any changes in these body styles?

If not, what spacers would I need? I used search function and got a few different answers. My best guess now is I will need 1.5" spacers?

Thanks, according to the link it's the same. But for some reason people keep saying that gen 4 require spacers to fit gen 3 stuff??

Any idea why?

Another good site to check wheel fitment is www.rimsntires.com it will show where it might rub and the best offset for your vehicle.

Thanks, I went to that site i don't see where it tells me where it might rub and what not.

Am i just slow and missing it?

I believe they should work just fine. Do you know anyone with a 4th gen that would let you try them on? Or pull up next to one and a quick visual inspection should tell you if much has changed.

Naw you are not slow it kinda hard to find but its on the left hand side under tools and size comparer

I took the stock 16" rims with 265-75-16 tires off my old 2002 Explorer and put them on my new 2007 Sport Trac. The swap was flawless, they fit perfectly with no rubbing.

Thanks. I figured they had to be the same or close!

Depending on the wheel's offset you might rub with 295s. I used to get light rubbing with 255s on OE 18x7.5 +48 offset wheels.

GT-500Ranger has 295/55R20 tires on his Sport Trac, and he said he gets a bit of rubbing with -12 offset wheels. He has nearly 33s with the Truxx lift, but the section width actually has a lot more to do with rubbing than tire diameter.

They're the same offset as my 24s, (+35).

I got 22s w 285/40/22

In that case, just try both of them on in your Explorer in the garage.

I sold the other truck and wheels but my 285/40/22 fit fine!

I have 20 inch rims that I run on my 2003 and 2010 explorer with out any problems
