2002 4.0L SOHC swap.

Can I put a 2003 4.0 SOHC in a 2002 explorer xlt. Not for sure what the 2003 came out of just know it was a explorer. The main thing i have noticed is the throttle body is not the same and the air intake comes from the front of motor instead of the passager side and the coil pack is located on the rear of the engine and mine is on the front .. Can i take the parts off of my motor and install on the 2003. and the old motor is a 4.0 SOHC also . Any info would be greatly appriciated. Having a hard time finding one that is the same ..

Sounds like it came out of a Sport Trac or a Ranger.

Not sure about the parts swapping though. I'd imagine the block and heads are the same with different accesspores attached and a different intake. But again, I'm not sure.
