2002 EB faulty gas gauge

dealership just replaced my fuel pump. now when I fill the tank, gauge only reads 3/4 full. Message center reads approx 180 miles to E (should be approx 390). Fuel gauge stays at 3/4 until fuel level in tank reaches that amount, then gauge drops accordingly as fuel is used. Message center mileage to E drops from 180 to about 130, then jumps up again to about 180 when gauge kicks in at actual 3/4 tank.

It's apparent the techs. damaged or improperly did something when changing out the pump.

Was the fuel pump NOS? Could be bent arm on float arm, bad rheostat, bad sender ??
