2002 Eddie Bauer. A/C problems.

Let me preface this by saying I trust my mechanic. But...I think he has hit a brick wall with my AC and is now just grasping at straws. Over the last year, he has replaced 6 (yes, six) compressors in my 2002 EB 4x4 w/rear air. The NAPA replacements would only last a few weeks. The Ford replacement lasted 9 mos. Lots of other parts have been replaced as well.
Bottomline: The AC works great on the interstate or at high rpm, but as soon as I idle (like at a traffic signal), it stops cooling--in fact, it feels like the air has turned humid.
I am in Florida and it is going to get REALLY hot and muggy here soon. Any idea what to suggest my mechanic replace next?

Welcome to this forum! I've moved your thread into the A/C & heater section. Junk in the lines keeps clogging up the new compressor. Either flush the lines, or replace the entire system prior to installing a new compressor.
