MICHIGAN TRUCK, Michigan: Expedition/Navigator
Sources at the Michigan Truck plant are reporting that the launch of the 2002 Ford Expedition and Lincoln Navigator may be pushed back, once again. Ford originally issued a JOB1date of 13 August, which was later revised to 12 November. Sources at Michigan Truck recently told BlueOvalNews that Ford is now contemplating a March 2002 JOB1 date.

-----------

Whats everyone think? Is it a good, or a bad sign that Ford is constantly pushing back these launches?

Well, I suppose it's good and bad....Good, with the attempt to clear up any problems...But, they seemed to try this with the 2002 explorer....and well, according to your other post...It looks like they could be seeing some early repairs...So, who knows....I say everyone gets 91-94 explorers;)

i think it's a very good idea to push back the release of anything that will ultimately be piloted by joe american on the open roads of this country. they need to rid these vehicles of as many bugs as they possibly can before they are released. there are, of course going to be niggling problems that arise even after the cars are in our hands, but we all know that it is better for them to find them sooner than later.

"Launch" couldn't be a better word
Those things are huge..dare I says "big boats"!

I agree, it's good. I don't know if you've seen that GM recalled all 2002 Bravadas, Envoys and Blazers, saying that they don't even want the people driving them to the shops, they want them towed as whatever the problem is - is very serious. Anyone know what the peoblem actually is? I only heard the report on the radio yesterday.

Anyways, avoiding a problem like the above is a good thing... :)

Read my post in this forum "GM says its SUVs are unsafe at any speed".

Already did.

Does anybody have a photo of the 2002 Expedition/Navigator by chance?

Yah, what's up with the new ones?

We have another child on the way, and are planning on a bigger town truck (a supplement, not replacement, for the Explorer).

We have seriously talked about a Lincoln Navigator - you might as well be comfortable, and we can tow the Explorer to where we wheel.

I am happy buying a used truck, but if the 2002 is a lot different/better????? Links to news would be great!
