I have good AC and fan action but air only blows to the windshield and feet. Lowering the glove box I found the actuator that move a door (I assume) which redirects airflow. I selected the dash vent option on the AC control panel and then activated the actuator arm manually. Air would blow through the dash vents. When I release it though it moves back so no air flows through dash. All vacuum lines appear to be connected under the dash and in the engine compartment. Next step - replace actuator? Or are there other possibilities?

Thanks for your assistance.

same problem....any answers out there?

air comes out of only defrost and heat. Vent/Floor/Defrost Directional switch is not working unless switched to off. When out of the off position, air only comes out of defrost or and heat at the same time.

Where is the actuator switch on an 02 XLT V8?
