Hello- I'm installing an Eclipse AVN30D unit into my 2002 Explorer 4-door Eddie Baur 4.6L. I have researched and keep seeing a gray/black wire to search for. I am having a tough time.
1) The PCM- which passes through the firewall on the passenger side- I have opened up each wire loom under the engine comp goes goes directly into the PCM- there is no gray/black wire- I can tap under the hood there, could it be another color? (or is this not the PCM- LOL) :)
2) I checked the black box located behind the glove box above the pass kick- don't see a gray/black there.
3) Checked the 4x4 module- no gray/back.

I'm kinda lost- can anyone tell me a location, wire color where I could tap for a VSS wire (Speed Sense Wire) for a navigation unit?

Thanks Much!

did you look in the wiring loom that comes out of the rearend?
i am pretty sure that is where the vss gets it's signal from,
if it does, follow it up the side frame ,

At the ABS control module, there is a light green/black wire and a red/pink wire. Those are the wires from the rear speed sensor.
