2002 Explorer XLT 4x4 Tranny

Hi folks, great Fourm here loaded with lots of good info.

My question - I just purchased this rig, has 109k on it and it runs well. I have noted the tranny issues from other forums. I dont think I have any big problems but want to see if there is any way I can get it to shift smoother.

Not all the time, more when cold, it will shift a little harder or RPM's will be a little higher. It seems to be more between 2-3 and 4-5.

I think there is a sensor, but what can I do without taking it in to someone. I have plenty of good clean fluid in it.

Any tips or tricks would be apprecieated.

welcome to the site. I cant think of any tips or tricks to getting it to shift smoother. There was a sensor/solenoid recall if Im not mistaken that may help it shift better. Im sure if you search for transmission issues you may get too much info but you may also be able to find out some more info on the solenoid.
