Hey gurus,
I have learned a lot from this forum already about my Eddie Bauer V6, but now I have a problem I cannot nail down.

My V6 has 206K on it and doesn't leak anything that I can find. However, I have a burning smell in the driver's side front wheel well. I can also smell it inside when I have the vent on or the windows down. Can't smell it so much with the AC on, but that seems logical to me.

The only thing I have found so far is that it may be a sticking break caliber, but the wheel is never overly hot.

Does anyone out there have any thoughts of something else to look for?

Brakes can certainly stink if hanging up. If you suspect a brake is sticking I’d resolve it ASAP. You will burn your fluid in short order.

I’d also check the manifolds carefully. Doesn’t take much of an oil leak to smell, and it’s very possible it’s burning off.
