2002 Ford Explorer XLT problems, Clicking sound?

This is my wifes 02 explorer we just bought last month, well all of sudden now usually after braking you can hear a clicking sound, the best i can explain it is that it sounds like its coming from the front end, it doesnt do this all the time but it has gotten louder since it first started a week ago, and the ticking are about half a second apart if that helps any, Ive always been a chevy guy until she got this car and well i have to say im quite impressed with the way it was built and how it handles, anyhow if i could get some help with this i will be very thankful!!
