2002 ford explorer xlt v8
Hi guy's. I'm sooo glad to find this site!!!! Me and my wife both have explorers. Hers is a 2003 and mine is a 2002. Hers is a v6 and mine is a v8. Both have between 195000 and 200000 miles. Although mine had a new engine put in right at a year ago. They have both all the sudden developed several almost identical problems. Both will idle rough and sometimes stall out when left to idle for a couple of minutes. Both temperature gauges will jump up to the red zone and then come back down, sometimes when the trucks are still cool. Always goes back to normal when you shut it off and restart it. Her AC almost always blows out of the window vents, hardly ever through the dash vents. My AC always blows through the dash vents, but sometimes it cools and sometimes not. And mine shifts really funny if I'm not REALLY easy on the gas.

Let me know if I've posted this in the wrong place. And thanks in advance!!!

Any recent work done on either of the vehicles? Besides the engine refit?

I just replaced my ignition coils, and replaced her spark plugs. I thought that might fix the stalling out.

Check the elbow on the pcv valve line from the throttle body. Also clean ur trottlebody .
