 Man, am I having a month with my truck!! Two weeks ago my torque converter went out on me, and then immediately following that, my carrier bearings took a crap and I had to have the rear end rebuilt with new bearings!!! $1500 month is hard for me to swallow!! Regardless, when he had it up on the lift for the rear end, he noticed that both of my rear coil springs were broken!!?? I haven't looked at them yet, but given this month's track record, I'm sure they are. Should I just go OEM new or to the salvage yard for a used set? Or is there some aftermarket brand I should check out? I'm not looking for any lift, I just want to go down the highway to work and back.

Any suggestions??

Both of mine were broken on my 2002 when it was looked at around 65k miles. I had the extended warranty so it was covered. One broke around the middle, the other right at the top.

I took a look at them this weekend, and they are both broke on the second coil at the top. Very strange, but very true. Looks like they are part of the strut and I'm just going to go to the salvage yard and pick up a set of used ones and slip them on. I'll tackle that along with the rear bearings that are singing and the e-brake shoes that my tech told me had seperated when he was repairing the rear end.

The madness must stop soon, there's not much more to replace!!!! :fire:

Bloody hell, I hope the ones built in Brazil for us Aussies have better quality steel, that is dangerous
