Ok I have had my truck in the shop 4 times for this leak and the shop cannot fix it.

The leak is coming from the extension housing that the t-case mounts to. I have replaced the 2 gaskets myself once to no avail.

My BIG question for hopefully an all knowing exeprt is this: Is the adapter housing that mounts between the tranny and t-case; is this housing supposed to be lubricated with tranny fluid? When I replaced the gaskets a few years ago, fluid kept coming out of a vent hole in the tranny. This is making me wonder if the housing is just getting full of fluid and increased pressure forces it find the easiest way out????

Please help, this is getting very old.

Thanks,
Chad

Fluid will come out backside of tranny when tcase off

On autos I try to use factory gasket, and little bit of gasket maker also.

Yes, the extension housing does receive lubrication from the transmission. There is a tiny orifice puck in the valve body itself, and it is for lubricating the extension housing.
