2002 V8 software updates/gains?

I would imagine that there would be software upgrades over the past 12 years. But, have any of you guys get them installed? Any differences that are noticeable?

Only software updates im aware of is for a trans shutter on the 02 models. No power gain or anything. I just had one in my shop last week for that exact issue. Update took care of it.

Do you have any details on that shudder like when or how it would occur? When was this update released?

My 02 4.6 has a tag that says a PCM update was installed in 2005. If there was only one update, I'd presume it came out around that time. Have a look in the engine bay for a ford sticker, indicating if the truck was flashed. If not, you may want to talk to your local dealer, to see if it's required, and if they will charge for it. (and what it does!)
