- 2003 Explorer XLT
My 2003 Explorer has 239K miles and has had a clunk for a few months.
I finally inspected it and found the problem.
The front differential has 3 bushings that attach to vehicle.
The top bushing was blown out and allowed alot of slop and movement.
I pulled the rubber out and pressed in a poly bushing.
Like brand new now! No more pops/noises and tightened up handling.
Here's my vid -
