2003 Explorer with a P0745 code.

i have a 2003 explorer and I am getting a P0745 diagnostic code. Mechanic told me that it is a transmission soleniod "It is deffinately a transmission problem, get a hard clank when shifting from 1 - 2 and the O/D starts flashing like a christmas tree light on my panel. All the problems I have seen or read about have been on 2002 models, I just want to make sure it is the same with the 03 models. hE TOLD ME IT IS A $475.00 FIX, the part cost abpot 325 - 375 at the dealer.

I just registered because I have the same problem. 2003 Explorer with P0745 code. I looked at your #98 useful thread and see nothing about this problem for a 2003. The trans has not been rebuilt, and the vehicle was not built prior to x-x-2002 (it was built 7-2003), so none of those really apply. Do you have any more info on this code for a 2003 model that has not been rebuilt? There are no other codes.

If I clear the code, the trans seems to work fine for a couple days, then SES comes back on and clunking resumes.
