I have a 2003 XLT with 110,000kms. once in while the all the dash warning lights come on full, the tack and speed go to maximum and then die to zero and then start the process all over again. Eventually stopping and freezing the gages in mid-points somewhere. The only way to have it stop and reset it to disconnect and reconnect the battery. It seems to happen worse when the road are wet. the engine, lights and other controls work fine during these fits of crazy. Local shops in toronto can't say what it is but are happy to spend as much time as I like at $115 per hour. Any help please...

Thanks, Richard in Toronto, Canada

iirc there's a TSB for 02-03's regarding faulty gauge clusters. Only fix is to replace the entire cluster.

There's a couple of how-to's on the board about replacing them.

someone here did a cluster swap, looks easy, and i have seen them on fleabay for $50.
