- 2003 Sport Trac XLT
I have a 2003 Ford Explorer Sport Trac. When first thing in the morning I get in truck it starts fine and goes in reverse fine. After going for a while and then parking and then trying to place it in reverse, the engine stalls as in someone placing a manual trans. in gear and not giving it the gas. It only does this when it is warmed up after driving a bit. I've tried giving it the gas after placing in reverse but it still dies after a few seconds. Its like I'm not even giving it the gas.
I've replaced the Air Intake Valve and even replaced transmission filter. I've called multiple transmission shops and they are also not sure as to what it is. I'm planning on taking it this week to get a free diagnostic check but just wanted to see if any of you have heard about this and know a fix.
Thanks for any help.
