I have a 2004 XL with a 4.0 and the fuel guage reads empty all the time. I changed the fuel sender with an aftermarket after being advised it was the problem. The replacement was made by Carter the org. manufacture for Ford and still no luck. I brought it to the local Ford Dealer and they advised from Ford Support that the sender was revised. We opted to change the dash cluster with a Ford replacement and still no luck. After a year of setting the mileage trip and refueling every 280 miles the two lights are still on and guage not working Help>>>>
