- 2004 Ford Explorer
New to the forum! My 2004 Explorer was working fine for a few minutes this morning before I took off for work, but as soon as I hit the highway... everytime I would attempt to accelerate it would rev up higher than usual and accelerate VERY slow when I would first ease into pressing the pedal ... also it would take me nearly pressing all the way to the floor to pick up to a speed suitable for the highway . I looked up the year of my truck and apparently it has a timing chain instead of belt . Could that be the issue ? Air filter clogged ? Anything ? Anybody ? Thanks
