Hey guys need some help with some front end parts/maintenance. I am not a huge mechanical guy but do have some common sense and sort of idea as to what I want to fix/replace. I have a 2004 X that has quicklifts on all 4 corners and a 1.5"/1" BTF spacer lift with BTF UCAs. The X has about 148K miles on it so it is time for some front end parts to be replaced. I would like to replace all bushings up front--i replaced the sway bar end links when I installed the lift so I do not need bushings for those. The only thing I see that has not been replaced there are the sway bar bushings. Are there others? Also wanting to do the wheel bearings on all four corners and CV joints/axles. Also thinking I need to replace some of the tie rods/steering components as I have been hearing some mild popping when steering at super slow speeds. So basically I need help with replacing all the wear items on the front end and CV joints/axles for the rear. Also probably need to replace all the lower ball joints. I want good parts that will hold up a while so what do you guys recommend and what parts should I be looking to buy? Thanks in advance for the help.

I have done a little research and am hoping that some of you guys can give me some advice on the best replacement CV axles and hub assemblies. It appears the Triden hub assembly is the best one to go with but what about replacement CV axles? I have been looking at the Detroit Axle CV axles and Hub assemblies ad wondering if anyone here has used them and had good success with them? My X does not see many miles a year--close to 4K per year if that but I do want to replace parts with quality replacement parts. Any info/help is greatly appreciated.

You could check out Raybestos suspension parts on Rockauto, their "Professional" line-up is pretty nice. Here is a thread from the 95-01 forums on those parts. The installation & parts will be different for your '04 though.

No idea on CVs, but Timken makes well respected hubs though.

All of our remanufactured CV Axles are Made in the USA from OEM components, built in our Michigan facility. Our bearings are imported , but we continue relationships with factories only if their quality is good. We want your part to last, not to join the giant scrap heap in the sky.
