I have a 2005 Explorer 4.6 with 237k and I am getting P1237 and P0191. I was driving and the engine cut out, checked OBD2 fuel pressure at rail and saw 0 psi. Checked fuse and found it blown, replaced with 20A and blew it again (ran for 30 seconds). Put a 30A in to get off the highway and it ran, got to rest area and swapped it back out with a 25A and kept running. Got home put meter on fuse and found 12A running, 1A with key on not running. Fuel pressure at rail is either 75psi +/- 3psi, or 40psi +/- 4psi. New fuel pump 11-months ago.
Everything runs fine after swapping out fuses, even with the odd fuel rail pressure, and I've driven around for 3 days in all sorts of conditions. When we swapped out the pump we cut a hole under the passenger seat and made a hatch. We checked the pump, connectors, the pressure sensor, and everything looks fine.
Could this be the fuel module in the rear area that is failing? Also why would I be getting 40 or 75psi at the rail? Thanks
