2005 Ford Explorer XLT with an engine noise (possibly the timing chain).

I am getting a marbling sound when my rpm's get up to around 3000 when i let of the gas it goes away. Any thoughts!

Do you have the SOHC and does it sound like a timing chain rattling against the guides?

Yes SOHC not sure of the timing chain but like i said when i get to 3000 rpms i hear it then anything below that it goes away.

sounds like the timing chain rattling against the guides. mine does it above 2600rpm. I'm going to have to tear down the front of the engine to replace them this summer.
