2005 front door speaker replacement

Stock audio system with single CD player and subwoofer

Can anyone say for sure if the stock front door speakers are 5x7/6x8?

I want to do a quick and dirty audio system improvement and thinkng about replacing the stock front door speakers with a pair of Boston Acoustic SX85. I've always liked Boston speakers. Anyone have any other suggestions for a good sounding drop in replacement?

Yes they are 5x7/6x8. Check out the Boston SL80 plate component speakers. They are more money but they are a bit nicer than the SX85's.

Your stock speakers will sound a lot better if you get a nicer receiver. I put in a Panasonic receiver with integrated 60Wx4 amp (~22W RMS) and the stock speakers are actually pretty good. However, I am now going to component speakers and an amp.
