Does anyone knows how to bleed out coolant air for 2005 Mountaineer 4.6L V8(same as 2005 Ford Explorer 4.6 L V8)? The car was overheated one day on a freeway, AAA technician came by and hit the thermostat, after that the cooling system back to working normally. It was running fine for a couple of days till I replace the thermostat. I could not bleed out the air from the Cooling system. I had the engine ran almost an hour with heater on high(the temperature was fine) but there was no air coming out at all. The coolant level remaining the same. The air trapped in the system and not coming out, when I turned the heater off the engine temperature start rising.
NEED HELP!!!! to bleed the air out. Thanks

Finally! I bought a repair manual from amazon and found out there was no trick on bleeding procedure, just like how you normally do, leave the cap open turn heater on to high and the air will escape from the small hose on top of the radiator. My problem was the coolant temperature sensor failed.
