I have a 2005 Ranger 4x4 auto with the 4.0L engine. The motor is blown and I am trying to find a used motor to put in. Salvage yards are telling me I can only use an engine out of a 2005 or 2006. I have read that others have used engines from other year rangers. I have a lead on some 2004 4.0L engines. Can anyone tell me what the difference is between the 2004 and 2005 4.0L engines and is the Long Block essentially the same? What issues will I run into? What other years will work? Thanks!
