2006 V6 exhaust leak

Hey guys, so I have a 2006 Explorer 4.0 and lately it has been idling around 1700 rpm after a cold start. The revs go back down after driving for a little bit, but the car still idles rough. Also whenever the engine is revved and is going back to idle you can hear a slight popping noise. It is very short so i cant really tell where it is coming from. Finally, when i put the fan on there is a faint exhaust smell in the car. Because of the exhaust smell and the popping i thought it might be a small exhaust leak, but i'm not sure if that explains the idle issue. Thanks.

Except that if you put a more descriptive title to your threads, you are much more likely to get help.

"Need Help" does not tell anybody anything. I usually don't even open such threads. (I guess I was feeling crazy today!!!)
