The first year Gen 2's have some peculiarities as do the Gen 1 2001 model year.
I'm just starting a Job1/Job 2 info thread for future info.

1. Job 1 / Job 2 cutoff dates: SportTrac vehicles built through 8/7/2006 are considered "Early Build" ( Job 1) vehicles and will use the info for SportTrac vehicles built up to 8/2006.

SportTrac vehicles built 8/8/2006 onward are considered "Late Build" ( Job 2 ) vehicles and will use the info for SportTrac vehicles built 8/2006 onward.

According to Ford advertizing the 2008 model came with a frame 400% stronger than the 2007
Not sure how accurate that is.

Am I the only one that sees no links to the FAQ's here? Was in the market and a 2007 was in my price range. I'm technically savvy, but would like to know the "peculiarities" in question.

Are you saying this relates to everything on the truck? In essence a Job 1 vehicle is really a 2006 with some interior changes? What about the Suspension etc?? I checked my vin # and it turns out I have a 2007 that was manufactured in June 2006.

edit.... oops. I didn't see how old this thread was. I still wouldn't mind an answer if anyone happens to see it. thanks

Pay particular note to the mid-year option changes on page two. My build date was 8/11/06, so I guess it was an 'early late build'...
